My Haircare Routine and Tips for Healthy Hair

What you put in your hair is just as important as what you put in your body. Throughout my years of modeling and acting, my hair became damaged due to the amount of heat being used on a daily basis. After trying new products, I've come up with a routine that has kept my hair healthy. 

Shampoo and conditioner:
To wash my hair, I use TRESemm√© Anti-Breakage Shampoo and Conditioner. This has kept my hair strong, preventing split ends. I recommend finding a shampoo and conditioner that is specific for your hair type. 

Hair mask:
One of the best hair masks I've used is the Professional Series Hydrating Argan Oil Mask. It keeps your hair healthy, soft, and it smells so good. After I apply it, I brush my hair with a wide tooth comb. 

Both It's a 10 Miracle Leave-in Product and UBuntu Oils Repairing Mist, are great products to spray in your hair either wet or dry. They leave a lasting shine while repairing any damaged hair. 

Using a silk pillowcase can reduce friction on your hair and prevent breakage and split ends. I've noticed a big difference in my hair's shininess and health since using one.

For vitamins, I use a biotin supplement which helps your hair create amino acids that produce a form of keratin. 

My hair care tips:

1) Prevent frizz by using a t-shirt to squeeze dry your hair instead of a towel.
2) Try to minimize using heat-styling tools as much as possible. 
 3) Use coconut oil or a hair mask once a week in order to keep your hair silky and shiny. 
4) Try not to use a rubber band on wet hair because it can easily cause damage.
5) While washing your hair turn the cold water on because it helps your hair have a natural shine.
6) Use a wide toothcomb to brush out any tangles after you shower to eliminate breakage.
7) Try to eat healthy.
8) Use a leave in conditioner.
9) Braid your hair at night.
10) Choose a shampoo and conditioner that is specifically for your hair type.
